It’s now two years running that Louisiana has been ranked number two by Site Magazine for it’s yearly infrastructure investment, with the state getting special recognition this year for it’s investments in coastal protection. Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson says strengthening wetlands, swamp and estuaries buffers communities and industries against storm surge.

Pierson says the state has seen almost $40 billion invested in infrastructure throughout the state, just in 2019.
A CDC report shows that Louisiana dropped in the rankings for new cases of gonorrhea and early-stage syphilis. Assistant Secretary for the state Office of Public Health Dr. Alex Billioux says the state is now making house calls in an effort to help overcome transportation hurdles.
