A 17-year-old hunter from Monroe is killed by a lightning strike in Union Parish over the weekend. Sheriff Dusty Gates says Colton Honeycutt was inside an elevated deer stand in a remote wooded area when a storm came through Saturday.

Colton was hunting by himself and was by family members who had gone to look for him.
After injuries sustained in a house fire last week took the lives of two young Shreveport girls, the community, is looking for answers. The fire is being investigated as arson and investigators are looking for details. Caddo Parish Public School Superintendent Keith Burton says the loss of Nine-year-old Aaliyah Robinson and five-year-old Danielle Spearman is a tragedy.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to five thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest in this case.
