The Colorado State University hurricane forecast team is now calling for an extremely active 2020 season. Jeff Palermo has the details

The start of high school football has been pushed back by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. Initially set for early September that date will now, tentatively, be at least October 8th, with an eight game season in the works. Championship dates have not been set but the playoffs reportedly could be extended into next year if need be.

A Baton Rouge dad is in jail after his 10-year-old son is shot during an alleged drug transaction Baton Rouge Police Sgt. L’Jean McKneely says several of 36-year-old Kevin Evans Jr.’s children were there during the drug deal, and one of them described to police what happened…

Evans Jr. is also alleged to have had his children actively involved in the production of the drugs that he was selling.

Every school is being provided enough masks to give one reusable, washable high quality cloth facemask to every employee and student, and have two thousand extra for the coming fall semester. State Education Superintendent Cade Brumley says that comes out to a million masks, a major expense but one that is worth it…
