State lawmakers are expected to vote soon on whether to hold a 30-day special session to address Hurricane Laura issues and the draining of the state’s unemployment trust fund. LA-Politics-dot-com publisher Jeremy Alford says the big issue will be

Alford says there are a lot of lawmakers frustrated with the governor’s Phase 3 coronavirus restrictions and how it’s impacting businesses. He says the special session could begin as early as Monday.

Pineville Police say one of its officers was shot last night in the leg behind a shopping center in what authorities are calling a police ambush. Deputy Chief of Pineville P-D Darrell Basco says the wounded officer heard two gunshots shortly after he exited his police cruiser

Louisiana local governments are projected to lose an average of six percent of their expected revenue for the 2021 fiscal year. Matt Doyle has the story.
