He says the alleged perpetrator kidnapped the kids after fighting with their mom. He took them to a mobile home park, where he shot them both then himself. One child died at the scene the other at a local hospital.
$320-million in federal funds are headed to Louisiana to bolster U.S. battery manufacturing. 219-million dollars will go to Syrah Technologies in Vidalia which makes battery components for electric cars, plus $100-million will go to a chemical plant in St. Gabriel. Work has begun in Kenner on converting the 30-year-old Treasure Chest riverboat casino on Lake Ponchartrain into a land-based operation. The $100-million project is expected to be ready to open in 2024. In the meantime the riverboat will remain open.
