The FDA approves emergency use for the first at-home self-test for COVID-19 that provides results in 30 minutes. Assistant for Translational Research at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine Dr. Lucio Miele says the self-test uses a molecular amplification of technology to detect the virus but what is important is when you perform the test.

Pfizer says it is days away from formally asking the Food and Drug Administration to allow emergency use of the vaccine. Senator Bill Cassidy expects vaccines could be administered to people in late December or early January. He says each state has submitted a plan for distribution

Johnson says health care will be a hot topic in the next Congress and Johnson says moving to a single-payer healthcare system as many Democrats propose would not work…

Governor John Bel Edwards was in Lafayette this morning to personally thank members of the 256th Infantry Brigade who are deploying to the Middle East. About two-thousand guardsmen are participating in deployment ceremonies that have been taking place over the last week. They will be gone for nearly a year and Edwards thanked them for their service.
