West Monroe police arrested a teacher’s aide at a daycare facility after she was allegedly caught on video hitting, shaking and dropping children on the floor. Police say 48-year-old Yolanda Jackson abused two three-year-olds and a four-year-old. The Assembly Kidz Care on Gleenwood Drive says Jackson was fired immediately.

The Advocate reports that only a third of the 2016 flood victims who applied for assistance through the Louisiana Restore Program actually received money. But Office of Community Development Executive Director Pat Forbes says many of the applicants were not eligible for the federal funds and 15-thousand households that received the money are grateful…
