Former LSU star Alex Bregman is officially leaving Houston as the free agent third baseman has signed a three-year 120-million dollar contract with the Boston Red Sox. That’s one of the highest average annual salaries in the big leagues.

Kellen Moore will be introduced today as the Saints new head coach. Moore and his family took in the Pelicans game last night and saw the Birds lose their 10th straight game, 119 to 111 to the Sacramento Kings.

The LSU men’s basketball team’s losing streak grew to seven games last night with a 70 to 58 loss to Arkansas. The Tigers at Oklahoma. The Sooners are also struggling, they lost at Missouri last night.

The Ragin Cajuns lost at home to Troy 74 to 56 to fall to 8-and-18 on the season.

Tonight ULM hosts Texas State, Louisiana Tech takes on Kennesaw State in Ruston.

A-G Liz Murrill is working to extradite a doctor in New York accused of mailing abortion pills across state lines. Doctor Margaret Carpenter is facing charges in Louisiana for prescribing abortion-inducing medication to a pregnant minor in West Baton Rouge Parish. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is fighting the extradition attempt because she says a doctor should not go to jail for providing basic reproductive health care.

The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children CEO Libby Sonnier says this initiative features 12 statewide events to raise awareness among policymakers, business leaders, and families.

A Rapides Parish man could be the first death row inmate to be executed in Louisiana in 15 years. Larry Roy is scheduled to be executed by nitrogen hypoxia on March 19th. Roy killed his ex-girlfriend’s ex-husband, Freddie Richard Jr., and her aunt, Rosetta Salas. He also attacked her and her two children, but they survived. Attorney General Liz Murrill says executing Roy and other condemned inmates is long overdue.

Attorney General Murrill says she and Governor Landry campaigned on reinstituting the death penalty.

Governor Landry called the decision “absurd”, but  Craft says divergent opinions are crucial for academia.

Recordings from Levy’s class revealed him using profanity to criticize political figures, but Craft says LSU wasn’t clear on the reason behind the suspension.

A complaint from a student is what started the investigation into Levy’s conduct. LSU President William Tate testified it was his decision to suspend Levy. Landry says Levy’s behavior was unprofessional and the judge ignored the facts of the law and the Constitution. He expects the decision to be overturned by an appeals court or the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Congressman Clay Higgins is urging the Trump administration to enforce stricter testing protocols of imported shrimp. Deborah Long with the Southern Shrimp Alliance says Higgins is leading the call for stricter standards.

Long says that compared to the European Union, where all shipments are tested before being shipped and 50-percent are tested again when delivered, the U-S tests one tenth of one-percent of imported seafood. She says the U-S shrimp industry is facing a financial crisis because of cheap imports.

The woman charged in connection with the death of a Kansas City TV reporter in New Orleans for the Super Bowl is also tied to a death in the French Quarter in December. All we know about that December death is that it’s similar in nature to the death of Adan Manzano. His wallet and cell phone were later found at the home of 48-year-old Danette Colbert, who’s being held without bond.

Rob Levy’s attorney argued that his removal from class violated his academic freedom, while Governor Landry called the ruling absurd and it will be appealed.
