Lafourche Parish deputies arrested 19-year-old Tyaliah Adams for possessing a gun in the parking lot of the Thibodaux High School football stadium. Adams allegedly brandished the firearm during an altercation between two males. Authorities say when she showed the gun, everyone fled the scene.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Precious Hicks was convicted on drug trafficking charges and she has a lengthy criminal history.

The policies focus on expanding teacher autonomy and creating a disruption-free classroom by tightening student discipline, giving more lesson planning freedom to effective teachers, and reducing the number of training teachers have to repeat every year….

Some of the approved policies are ensuring misbehaving students are removed from a classroom immediately if a teacher requests it, giving effective teachers more freedom to plan lessons, and reducing repeat teacher training. Brumley says enforcing these policies will be a collaborative effort between state and local educators…

Officials say two male students were involved in an altercation and Adams, who is not a student at Thibodaux High, allegedly got out of a car and brandished a gun.

The parent told deputies they forgot to drop their six month old off at daycare in the morning and realized the terrible mistake when they went to the day care facility after work. Kids and Car Safety Director Amber Rollins recommends creating a visual reminder for when your child is in the car with you, which can break a parent out of autopilot. She suggests keeping a large stuffed animal in the back seat…

The new bridge will have two more lanes, a median, and three spaces for U-turns; and the old bridge will be converted into a walking bridge.
