The mother of the 1-year-old who survived two days in a ditch along I-10 and the 4-year-old found dead in water behind the Vinton Welcome Center, now faces charges of murder and child cruelty.  Aaliyah Jack, 25, of Lake Charles faces two charges of failure to report a missing child, along with a count of second-degree murder and a count of cruelty to a juvenile. Her 4-year-old son, Legend, was found dead Monday, then Tuesday morning a truck driver spotted her 1-year-old son, Kingtrail, climbing out of a ditch. Jack is held in Mississippi on a $9.1 million bond. She is fighting extradition to Louisiana.

In Livingston Parish a pedestrian is dead, and Louisiana State Police are asking the public for help finding the driver of a pick-up truck who allegedly hit th woman walking on LA 447 near Andrews Road in Livingston Parish. The pickup truck’s driver reportedly did not stop and continued traveling south. The victim, Deasha Doucet, 30, of Denham Springs was then hit by another vehicle, whose driver stopped to help and report the crash. Authorities believe the pickup was a gray or silver full-size Chevrolet pickup
