The first round of the NBA Draft was last night, and the Pelicans selected Baylor center Yves Missi (EEV ME-SEE). The 6’11” 20-year-old averaged 10.7 points and 5-and-a-half boards a game in one season with the Bears. The Cameroonian prospect brings much needed size and athleticism inside for the Pels who will likely lose starting center Jonas Valanciunas in free agency. Missi is a raw, athletic talent who only began playing organized basketball at age 16, so New Orleans will likely look to add another veteran big man in the offseason.
