Park manager, Daniel Goyer says actors dressed in Union and Confederate military uniforms will will stage the Battle of Port Hudson. The LSU Lady Tigers played a sloppy game but still got past the Rice Owls 70-60 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Kim Mulkey displeased with the 24 turnovers her team committed….

Angel Reese led the team with six turnovers. But she had another double-double 10 points and 19 rebounds.

The Lady Tigers will play Middle Tennessee on Sunday at 2 PM. The Lady Raiders upset Louisville 71-69, rallying back from an 18-point first half deficit, third largest comeback in NCAA Women’s Basketball History.

Grambling’s historic season ended last night with a 78-50 loss to Purdue. The Tigers finished the year with a 21-15 record.

The fifth ranked LSU baseball team got back to great pitching and defense in a six to one win over sixth ranked Florida last night. Luke Holman struck out a career high 13 and allowed one run in six innings and Griffin Herring threw three shutout innings for the save. Florida had just four hits.

The Cajuns held Old Dominion to three hits in a three to nothing win. ULM and Georgia State will play a doubleheader today. So will Louisiana Tech and Jacksonville State.

Southeastern Louisiana stays hot with a five to nothing shutout win over Northwestern State, McNeese lost to the Northwestern Wildcats 12 to four and UNO was a four to one winner over Nicholls.

Nice win for the Pelicans last night as they defeated Miami 111 to 88. New Orleans played without Brandon Ingram who went down with a knee injury the night before and is expected to miss at least two weeks. Zion Williamson had just four points, but CJ McCollum had 30 points.

In the NFL…the Kansas City Chiefs traded former Louisiana Tech cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Titans for a couple of draft picks.

The Southland Conference Champion McNeese Cowboys season ended last night with an 86-65 loss to Gonzaga. Shahada Wells capped off his college career with a game-high 19 points. Wells is glad he was part of this special season…
