LSU running back Trey Holly has been named SEC Freshman of the Week. The former Union Parish star made his Tigers debut last Saturday and had a 67-yard touchdown run. It’s the fourth straight game LSU has rushed for more than 200 yards in a game.

LSU has received a commitment from a cornerback out of Mississippi. P-G Woodland from Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg is rated as a three-star recruit.

Northwestern State safety Ronnie Caldwell was laid to rest on Saturday. He was fatally shot during the middle of the night on October 12th at his apartment complex. Two people have been arrested in connection with his case, but no one has been charged with murder. Natchitoches Police spokesperson John Greely says detectives continue to vigorously investigate this homicide…

One of the people arrested was a member of the Northwestern State football team. Defensive tackle Maurice Campbell of Memphis was charged with obstruction of justice.

Tonight it’s Game Seven of the American League Championship Series. The Road team has won every game so far, so can the Astros break the trend. Later this afternoon, the Phillies can return to the World Series if they beat the Diamondbacks. Aaron Nola gets the start on the mound for Philly in the Game Six of the NLCS.

Interstate 55 is closed in both directions between Ruddock and Manchac after 25 crashes this morning. The crashes are in three different spots in St. John Parish and at least two people have been killed and 30 reported injuries. Three 18-wheelers were also fully engulfed in flames. Fog and smoke from the marsh fires were contributing factors to the accidents.

The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children is asking parents of children ages 5 and under for their input in the 2023 Parent Poll.

U.S. Representative Mike Johnson from Benton wants to be the next Speaker of the House. Johnson currently serves as vice chairman of the House Republican Conference. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says having GOP leadership in the chamber should help Johnson’s chances.

A second person has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Northwestern State football player Ronnie Caldwell. Natchitoches police spokesperson John Greely says a former teammate, 22-year-old Maurice Campbell of Memphis, faces multiple charges including obstruction of justice.TO date no one has been charged with murder, but Greely says Campbell interfered with the investigation.

Caldwell’s roommate has also been charged with having a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance. But no one has been charged with Caldwell’s murder.

A fatal shooting in Monroe on Saturday night claimed the life of a 14-year-old. Monroe Police say it occurred in the 31-hundred block of Renwick Street. Authorities have not released any other information.

Alexandria P-D arrested a 15 and 20-year-old for waiving guns around in a parking lot on Enterprise Road. Cops say it appears they were making a video.

He will be needed to have a big performance against Alabama on November 4th in Tuscaloosa and Coach Brian Kelly is glad Daniels is on his team…

Alabama is ranked 9th in the AP Poll. We will get an official kick-off time on the game later today, but it’s expected to be 7 PM.

We’ll have a Game 7 in the ALCS tonight as the Rangers routed the Astros nine to two. A Phillies win tonight for the D-Backs and they are headed to the World Series for a second consecutive year.

The Ragin Cajuns found themselves down 20-0 to Georgia State in the 2nd quarter on homecoming night, they battled back but lost 20-17. They had a chance to win on the final play, but Zeon Chriss threw an interception in the end zone. Coach Michael Desormeaux wishes he had that first half back…
