There is a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico moving south of Louisiana towards Texas and it’s resulted in a Red Flag Warning, which means wildfires and grass fires can spread quickly. National Weather Service Lake Charles Meteorologist Stacey Denson.

Warm temperatures and dry wind are the perfect mixture for activity to develop over warm waters and there are three named storms Emily, Franklin, and Gert in the Atlantic Ocean. Denson says there’s low pressure moving across the Gulf but that’s given a 70% chance of development.

An ATV ride in St. Tammany Parish near Bush turned fatal when two female juveniles were driving the vehicle and struck a tree. Police were called to the scene on Saturday night when they were rushed to the hospital. Sargent Suzanna Carboni gives an update on the pair’s condition after the accident.

The 12 year old that passed was confirmed to be Payton Strain, and this is not the first death in the area from this type of accident, so Carboni has a message to all ATV owners.
