The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest a teen male from the town of Gray in connection with a social media threat that said he was attempting to acquire a gun and bring it to H.L. Bourgeois High School Thursday. Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office spokesman Blake Tabor says they received an anonymous tip Wednesday afternoon, and soon after took him into custody…:

The youth said it was a joke. Tabor says the Law didn’t find it funny.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in relation to the threats made toward students at East Ouachita Middle School and Ouachita Parish High School. The 14-year-old reportedly made the threats on social media. He is in juvenile custody.

New Iberia Police say don’t believe everything you read on Facebook. Chief Todd D’Albor says posts about a shooting incident at the New Iberia Walmart are not true. Again, all is well in New Iberia…especially at Walmart.

Another candidate for Governor this fall makes his intentions official. Lake Charles attorney-at-law Hunter Lundy is an independent, and says – if elected – he’d work to reduce poverty and seek to rehabilitate convicted criminals so they do not return to prison. He says, as an independent, he’ll be open to proposed legislation, with no prejudices as to party affiliation…:

He joins A.G. Jeff Landry and Treasurer John Schroder – both Republicans. More candidates are expected to announce soon.

A Laplace man faces murder charges after he allegedly killed his aunt by standing on her throat. Deputies arrived at the home to catch 25-year-old Christian Robinson in the act. They tased him but it was too late to save the victim, 57-year-old Suzanne Robinson. Charged with 2nd degree murder, he’s being held pending a half-million-dollar bond.

 

Economic development in Tangipahoa Parish. Niagara Bottling says it will invest over $150-million in a brand new production facility in Hammond. Parish President Robby Miller says work on the 500-thousand square foot facility is already underway…:

There are five NFL teams searching for a new head coach and Saints analyst Nick Underhill believes all five of them have contacted former Saints coach Sean Payton. Of the five, the Saints have allowed the Broncos, Cardinals, and Texans to meet with Payton. The NFL is not allowing any interviews until the 17th,  Payton’s first interview has been scheduled with the Broncos for next Tuesday. New Orleans still owns the rights to Payton’s contract, meaning if he were to seek a new team, the Saints have said they’d require at least first-round pick compensation.

ULM hosts the Ragin’ Cajuns tonight as both teams look for a crucial Sun-Belt win. The 12-4 Cajuns were preseason favorites to win the conference but lost their first two Sun-Belt games on the road before bouncing back to win their last two. ULL coach Bob Marlin wants to keep his team’s momentum

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Blake Tabor says they received an anonymous tip Wednesday afternoon and soon after took him into custody.

Tabor says the patrol division quickly identified who sent the message and the suspect is being held without bond at the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Justice Complex.

The juvenile’s name and age has not been revealed, and the Tabor says more information will be released once it’s available. He says the investigation is ongoing.

The Louisiana State Police Commission is stripping two troopers who were involved in the Ronald Greene arrest of their pay at the request of State Police. Trooper’s Kory York and Lt. John Clary were already ordered to take paid leave in December of 2022. The commission’s decision today means the troopers will no longer receive a check.

A lot of cops and deputies were seen today at two Ouachita Parish schools – Ouachita High and East Ouachita Middle. We’re told they were looking into alleged threats made against the schools but no credible threats were determined. They are still investigating.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Broncos will interview former Saints Coach Sean Payton on Tuesday in Los Angeles as they look to fill their head coaching vacancy. The Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals have also received permission to talk to Payton who is still under contract with the Saints.

The short-handed Pelicans could not keep up with the Boston Celtics last night as New Orleans lost 125 to 114. The Celtics were led by Jalen Brown who had 41 points and Jayson Tatum had 31 points. New Orleans was without Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Herb Jones.

Louisiana Tech rallied back from an 18-point deficit only to lose in the final seconds to North Texas 67-65. Isaiah Crawford had 25 points in a losing effort.

Niagara has more than 40 production facilities worldwide and the Tangipahoa Parish facility will be the first location in the state. Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of 2023 and the production facility will employ 70 individuals with an average annual salary of 55-thousand dollars.
