A USA Today article highlights several cases of LSU mishandling sexual misconduct complaints against students, including top athletes. LSU beat reporter for USA Today, Glen Guilbeau, says three of his co-workers have a lot of evidence from the accusers that LSU didn’t react to their claims like they should…

The report says LSU athletic officials received complaints about former running back Derrius Guice for over a year and at least seven LSU officials had direct knowledge former wide receiver Drake Davis was physically abusing his girlfriend. LSU AD Scott Woodward took over in the spring of 2019 and Guilbeau says Woodward needs to make sure future claims are properly investigated…

The USA Today says at least nine LSU football players have been reported to police for sexual misconduct and dating violence since Ed Orgeron became head coach in 2016. The school has acknowledged disciplining two of the nine athletes, Drake Davis and Peter Parrish. And the university says it does not tolerate sexual assault or any form of abuse. But Guilbeau says their actions do not follow those words

Former Governor Edwin Edwards is back home after he went to the hospital on Friday because he had difficulty breathing.  His Biographer Leo Honeycutt says doctors ended up diagnosing Edwards with a common sickness.

While the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly, Honeycutt explained that Edwards’ hospital stay was not related to Covid-19.

Cut 7 (06) “…tests.”

The 93-year-old Edwards has had recent bouts with pneumonia, but Honeycutt says the Silver Fox remains a vibrant senior citizen.

There is more promising news today regarding a potential COVID-19 vaccine. Moderna says early data shows its vaccine is nearly 95-percent effective. Pfizer made a similar announcement last week. Governor John Bel Edwards says one or more vaccine could be available by the end of next month

Edwards says he’s asking residents to follow the mitigation measures that have shown to work. He says if not, Louisiana could experience capacity issues at their hospitals….

The number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital has surpassed 800. It’s at 818 the highest total since September 2nd. Edwards says private social gatherings have led to an increase in cases

Pinsonat says Edwards’s military training and ability to learn from past governors’ mistakes allows him to present himself on camera well and reassure Louisianans during the pandemic and record-breaking hurricane season.

Another challenge the democratic Governor has faced in his second term is more republicans in the legislature. Pinsonat says outside the capitol Edwards is faring well, however inside its monumental challenge.

Edwards went to Our Lady of the Lake on Friday, because of breathing issues, but it turns it out it was just a bad head cold. His biographer, Leo Honeycutt, says the 93-year-old has had bouts with pneumonia but remains a vibrant senior citizen.

The USA Today published a lengthy story today detailing cases where LSU may have looked the other way when it comes to allegations of sexual abuse against females involving LSU football players. Saints quarterback Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in the first half of Sunday’s game against the 49ers. The 41-year-old QB will undergo an MRI today to look for possible cartilage damage. How long Brees could be out remains to be seen but most likely he’s out for Sunday’s game against Atlanta. Coach Sean Payton is expected to turn to Jamies Winston again. The former Tampa Bay QB played the majority second half of Sunday’s 27 to 13 win over San Francisco.

The Saints fell behind 10-0 yesterday, lost quarterback Drew Brees to a rib injury, but still ended up beating San Francisco 27-13 for their sixth straight win.  Brees was hurt after taking a big hit which resulted in a roughing the passer penalty.  He did not play in the second half.  Coach Sean Payton says…

Jameis Winston took over at QB in the second half and led the Saints on an important fourth quarter drive that resulted in a touchdown by Alvin Kamara, his third of the game.

Reports have serviced that LSU allegedly mishandled sexual misconduct allegations that involved former football players Derrius Guice and Drake Davis.  Numerous complaints were made against both players throughout their college careers.

The 24th ranked Ragin Cajuns are Sun Belt Western Division Champs for a third straight season.  They have clinched a spot in the conference title game with a 38-10 win over South Alabama.  Coach Billy Napier says it was their best performance of the year.

Napier is now considered a finalist for the South Carolina head coaching vacancy.

The NCAA has decided to create a bubble and host the men’s basketball tournament in one single location.  No location has been chosen at this point but Indianapolis seems to be the likely destination.

Former Governor Edwin Edwards is back home after he went to the hospital on Friday due to a sudden illness. The former four-term governor was released on Sunday.  Biographer Leo Honeycutt says that a common illness is what caused Edwards to be sent to the hospital.

Civil rights activists and the ACLU demand an independent investigation into the death of a 15-year-old Black teen who was found dead in an Iberia Parish sugar cane field. An Iberia Parish Coroner’s report concluded that Quawan “Bobby” Charles drowned and that damage to his face was caused by wildlife, but ACLU of Louisiana head Alanah Odoms believes it may have been a hate crime.

An article in the journal Nature claims hurricanes are keeping their staying power longer once they make landfall, thus more inland destruction. State Climatologist Barry Keim says the study showed the average length of time it took a storm to weaken to two-thirds of its landfall strength in the 1960s was about 17-hours.

The Saints beat the 49ers 27-13 but lost quarterback Drew Brees to a rib injury after a big hit in the first half. Brees says he may have injured more than one rib. He wasn’t the only starter who got hurt on Sunday. Tre’Quan Smith and Josh Hill both left the game with a concussion. Coach Sean Payton says his team was able to adapt to changes…

A study published in the journal Nature says climate change is causing hurricanes to retain their strength longer. Brooke Thorington has more.

Governor Edwards says he’s concerned about the recent spike in COVID cases and indicated that if it were to continue the state may have to move back to Phase Two or more.
Edwards says unlike the first wave of cases in the spring if we were to begin running out of hospital capacity we couldn’t just send patients out of state right now.

The family of a teenager who was found dead in Iberia Parish after being reported missing under mysterious circumstances is calling for an independent investigation into what happened. Matt Doyle has the story.
