Governor John Bel Edwards indicates Tiger Stadium will likely be limited to 25 percent capacity for the upcoming season. Edwards says the limit to a quarter capacity is significant, but that’s still nearly 26,000 fans to get through the gates in a safe way.

Families of children who receive free lunch and missed school days due to the pandemic can submit for pandemic EBT if they did not apply in May and June.  Department of Education data governance director Kim Nesmith says roughly 264,000 students are left who haven’t been submitted to receive the funds.

The state reports 250 COVID-19 cases today out of just over 4,100 tests. Fatalities increase by 13 to a statewide total of 4,955. 799 COVID patients are hospitalized, with 131 on ventilators.

Governor Edwards is set to hold a 2PM press conference today where many believe he will announce whether or not the state is moving into Phase Three. Edwards says recent metrics are encouraging in Louisiana’s battle against the spread of COVID-19.
