Starting Monday, the Office of Motor Vehicles will begin limited office services at eleven locations throughout the state, including the issuance or renewal of driver’s licenses and photo IDs, ordering a duplicate title, renewing vehicle registrations, and title transfers. Customers are still encouraged to make use of the OMV website, expresslane.org, when possible.

That fresh new license will be handy when getting behind the wheel to take in-state road trips as the Lt Governor encourages residents to help in saving the state’s tourism economy…

Edwards says it’s important you answer the contact tracer’s questions because they will inform you that a person you’ve been in contact with has tested positive for the coronavirus. He says it’s been used in Louisiana before…

Major League Baseball’s decision to reduce its draft to five rounds in June creates a roster crunch for LSU and other college baseball teams. Coach Paul Mainieri still expects outfielder Daniel Cabrera and pitcher Cole Henry, plus a couple of recruits to be selected, but he expected to lose eight players from the 2020 team to the draft

LSU football has announced that linebacker Donte Starks has been dismissed from the team. The former four-star recruit from John Ehret was arrested in February for illegally concealing a weapon.

The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame has made the decision to postpone their 2020 Induction Ceremony from the last weekend in June to December 15th through the 17th. Hall of Fame Foundation president Ronnie Rantz says due to the uncertain times, it’s in the best interest of the inductees to move the induction ceremony and the events surrounding it to later in the year. Former LSU Coach Nick Saban highlights this year’s class.

Former Tulane head baseball coach Rick Jones and former Southeastern Louisiana baseball coach Jay Artigues have been selected to the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.

The Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches has named Louisiana Tech’s Eric Konkol as coach of the year. The Bulldogs were 22-8 when the season ended.

And the Ragin Cajuns have announced the signing of six-foot-ten post player Isaiah Richards. The Brooklyn native averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds for a prep school in Massachusetts last season.

DiamondJacks Casino and Hotel in Bossier City announces they will not open next week when casinos can reopen across the state during Phase One. The casino says due to business circumstances caused by the unexpected impact of the virus they will close permanently. All employees were notified and are eligible to apply for unemployment.

Grigsby says up to ten inches of rain fell in St. Charles Parish. Officials say floodwaters entered over 120 homes in the Destrehan area.

As Phase one of reopening begins across the state today, for the first time since March Hospitalizations numbers for COVID-19 have fallen below 1,100, dropping significantly by 102 to 1,091. The state reports 348 new cases today bringing the total number to 33,837. Total fatalities are up by 31 to 2,382. Vent usage is down by 8 to 132.
