The NFL Network reports defensive end Marcus Davenport is reportedly out for the season as he needs surgery to repair his foot and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins is also reportedly done for the season because of a significant ankle injury suffered in the loss to the 49ers.

The Saints have reportedly signed defensive end Noah Spence. Tampa Bay selected him in the second round in 2016, but he was most recently cut by the Redskins. New Orleans will host the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night football.

Rumors of LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda becoming the next head coach of U-N-L-V has died down. There were reports yesterday that says Aranda and the Running Rebels were close to a deal. But the latest report from ESPN says no job offer was made, and Aranda and UNLV had just initial talks.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron and senior quarterback Joe Burrow have been named SEC Coach of the Year and Offensive Player by the league’s coaches.

The Pelicans will try to snap a nine-game losing streak tonight against the Bucks, who are tied with the Lakers for the best record in the N-B-A at 21-and-3. But the league’s reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play tonight because of a sore right quadriceps tendon. Tip-off is at 8:30 PM.

In college hoops, Grambling ended an eight-game losing streak to ULM by beating the Warhawks 66-61 last night. It’s the first time Grambling has defeated ULM since 1983 and it was the Warhawks first regular-season home loss since 2017, ending a 14-game winning streak.

A Shreveport man is jailed for allegedly stealing over $13-thousand worth of purses from an Alexandria mall. Authorities say 21-yr-old Donovan Mosely cut security tags of the Louis Vuitton handbags and dashed out with them. He hit both the Belk AND Dillard stores in the Pecanland Mall but is now in jail facing numerous charges.

The Louisiana Supreme Court rules today on a case between Jefferson Parish and Walmart that could determine whether large online marketplaces could be required to collect sales taxes on third-party retailer transactions.  Tax law expert Bill Backstrom says the ruling will impact the businesses providing the marketplace.

Jefferson Parish has been previously successful in two similar cases.  Backstrom says the tax administrators and businesses all over the country are waiting for the outcome of the case.

The attorney representing the former Livingston Parish deputy accused of rape and child pornography is trying to be removed from the case. According to The Advocate, J. David Bourland was hired privately to represent Dennis Perkins but as of Monday, Bourland has requested to resign from the case. In the filing, Bourland stated that he and Perkins were “not able to proceed in an effective and sufficient manner to provide a proper and constitutional defense.” Perkins’ does have a hearing scheduled for Dec. 19th.

Impeachment has spent the week in House Judiciary, home to Louisiana Congressmen Cedric Richmond and Mike Johnson.

Today in Ascension Parish, LSU is holding an Active Shooter exercise for the LSU National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter Terrorist Education Instructors. These instructors work with local law enforcement and first responders on how to provide care during shootings. NCBRT/ACE Public Affairs Manager Kris Wartelle.

A Webster Parish inmate was shot after allegedly stealing a vehicle and escaping while on work detail at the Webster Parish school board. Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton says after an all-night search, authorities located 40-year-old Norman Guthrie. Sexton says Guthrie was set to be released in March after serving time for aggravated battery, theft of a motor vehicle, and failure to appear charges.
