The Poor People’s Campaign is touring through Louisiana this week, aiming to mobilize more activists to join their national push for elected leaders to address poverty and adopt their “Moral Agenda”.
Louisiana Tri-Chair Omari Ho-Sang says at least 50 percent of Louisiana residents are considered poor or low-income, and they’re hoping to mobilize more of them to become politically active…

The campaign has visited Shreveport, and St. James Parish, and is scheduled to visit Baton Rouge next week.
Ho-Sang says the campaign is working to mobilize Louisianans around what they’ve defined as the four evils of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, and the war economy.

Campaign speakers have ruffled feathers at the State Capitol by accusing lawmakers of rejecting moral legislation like a minimum wage increase. Ho-Sang says the poor people they’re mobilizing appreciate the candor.

Police are hunting for a white vehicle that is suspected to have struck and killed a Monroe teenager in a hit and run incident in Monroe Tuesday evening.
Monroe Police Detective Reggie Brown says they suspect the vehicle in question currently has damage to it on the front right side as a result of the crash, and…

Brown is asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and it’s driver. If anyone in the vicinity of the crash has a home surveillance system, he’s asking you check it for evidence.
High school sophomore Ashley Dorsey died in the crash. Brown says there’s limited information available as to how it occurred.

Brown says the tragedy was compounded by the driver not even stopping to try and help the young girl he just hit. He says it shouldn’t matter what condition the driver may have been in.

Tickets are in high demand for the Auburn/LSU game. LSU’s third top-ten matchup of the season is sold out and the only way to get into Tiger Stadium is buy getting tickets from the secondary market. StubHub spokesperson Erin Exum says there are about 5000 tickets up for grabs on their website right now.

Exum says this is a game of national and international demand.

Exum says the days of finding a reputable scalper are in the rearview mirror, so the safest way to buy tickets on the secondary market are through a verifiable ticketing source such as StubHub.

A woman claims Carencro Police broke the wrist of her autistic 28-year-old son Derrick and has filed a lawsuit against the department. Police Chief David Anderson says Cynthia Moody contacted the department after an officer had an altercation with her son.

The mother says she believes the officer-involved went too far when dealing with her son.
Anderson says his department has had several calls from the Moody’s apartment complex about Derrick Moody in the past.
