Davis’s trade demand was not met by the deadline last week, and he will play out the rest of the season as a Pelican.

The Ethics Board has reversed a November decision to bar a Baton Rouge woman who was running for office from using campaign funds to pay for childcare expenses. There was significant public outcry over the decision, due to the board previously allowing men the same right. Political Consultant Mary Patricia Wray, who spoke at the hearing today, says barring moms from using those funds would likely have dissuaded many from even trying to run.

After three and a half days in the courtroom, a jury has found a 19 year old man not guilty of murder in the stabbing death of a St. Amant High School Student.  Jacob Westbrook was 16 at the time when he got into altercation that would leave 18-year old Todd TJ Toups Jr. dead.  Westbook’s attorney Jarrett Ambeau says this is the first good step in his client putting his life back together.

The three main sports of LSU are killing it this year.  Football finished last season ranked in the top ten and recently scored the 5th ranked recruiting class, while basketball is seeing a promising season and things are looking promising on the diamond as baseball is projected to start their season with top ranking.  Tiger Rag Associate Editor Tyler Nunez says it’s a rare occurrence for the planets to align for so much athletic success.

Demps has come under fire for failing to put much of any talent around a generational talent like Davis, and routinely shipping out first round draft picks in a win-now mentality that’s resulted in a team largely devoid of home grown talent.

President Trump announces he will sign an emergency declaration to pursue the border wall. Much of that money would reportedly come from Army Corps and/or FEMA disaster prevention and relief projects, a keen concern for hurricane prone Louisiana. Senator John Kennedy says he’s aware that’s a possibility…

After a year-long investigation, State Police have arrested fifteen suspects in connection with a Mardi Gras 2018 incident known as a ride out where participants would stop up highways and ride recklessly with motorcycle, ATVs and dirt bikes. The group has been linked to a string of dealership robberies as well.

That’s led to a situation like last night’s game, a surprising 131 122 win over the Thunder, where Davis exited the game with an injury, and left the arena before the game ended. Coach Alvin Gentry is clearly not happy with the team’s current situation, but praised the teams upset effort.

The Tigers are one of the favorites to win the College World Series, because of the return of shortstop Josh Smith, who missed most of last season with a back injury. 2009 was the last time the Tigers won a national championship and Smith knows LSU fans are hungry for another title…

Impressive win for the Pelicans last night as they defeated Oklahoma City 131 to 122 but the drama continues with disgruntled all-star Anthony Davis. In college hoops last night, DaQuan Bracey had a career-high 28 points as Louisiana Tech ended a three-game losing streak with a 71-57 win over UTEP.

The Saints have reportedly blocked the Bengals from speaking with defensive backs coach Aaron Glenn. Cincinnati is interested in hiring Glenn as its defensive coordinator.
