Carville says the SEC already requires LSU to play Florida every year, while Alabama gets an easier cross division opponent in Tennessee. He says now Commissioner Greg Sankey is making sure Alabama has even more of an advantage, when the two teams meet in Tiger Stadium on November 3rd…

Two children were killed a mobile home fire in Belle Chasse in Plaquemines Parish last night. State Fire Marshal spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue says three adults are hospitalized…

The coroner has identified the deceased kids as seven-year-old Jordan Beckham and nine-year-old Madison Branton.

Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso says a Fork Polk soldier and his 24-year-old girlfriend Sarah Parker were driving around last night with a dead woman in their trunk. Mancuso says 22-year-old Logan Kyle killed his wife at the military base and then was in the process of dumping the body when they were stopped in Calcasieu Parish. The sheriff says two young children were also in the vehicle…

The one-and two-year-old children are now in state custody, while Kyle is under investigation by the US Army and Parker is facing state charges.

Counselors are available for families who have children attending Benton Elementary. A former teacher at that school has been charged with rape and video voyeriusm and the victim is a student. Psychologist Grady Bray says 47-year-old Aubrey Norcross may have groomed his victim…

Two people have been arrested on multiple charges after Calcasieu Parish deputies conducted a traffic stop in Lake Charles after authorities received a tip of a woman driving around with a dead body in the trunk of a vehicle.  Sheriff Tony Mancuso says deputies found the body when searching the car and arrested the driver, 24 year old Sarah Parker as well as her passenger.

The Minnesota Vikings created a lot of heart ache for the Saints last season as they eliminated New Orleans from the playoffs. The Black and Gold get another crack at the Vikings this Sunday night. New Orleans won its fifth straight yesterday, a 24-23 come from behind win over the Ravens.

Despite throwing for 124 yards, ULM topped Texas State 20-14 for a homecoming win in Monroe on Saturday. Coach Matt Viator says the defense played great holding the Bobcats to 242 yards and limiting the visitors to just 2-of-13 on 3rd downs…

The victory improves ULM’s record to 4-4 overall, 2-2 in the Sun Belt.

In other action on Saturday, Louisiana Tech topped UTEP 31-24. J’Mar Smith’s 43-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the difference.

U-L Lafayette fell to Appalachian state 27-17. Alcorn State scored a touchdown with 12 seconds left to beat Grambling State 33-26.

In the Southland, McNeese, Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana lost.

The Bossier Parish School System says counselors and other support staff have been hard at work since the weekend helping families cope with the trauma associated with allegations that a teacher preyed on students. Psychologist Grady Bray says difficult conversations will be needed in the days ahead.

47-year-old Aubrey Norcross of Bossier City was arrested last week on charges of video voyeurism and rape involving two students at Benton.

Ag Commissioner Mike Strain attends a meeting today amid concerns from licensed medical marijuana pharmacies that the product will not be available this year.

Ag says they anticipate the first batch of medical marijuana will be tested around mid-November.

Two children are dead today following a late night mobile home fire in the Belle Chase area.  The call came in to the Belle Chase Volunteer Fire Department just before 10PM about the blaze on Hwy 23.  State Fire Marshal spokesperson, Ashley Rodrigue, says a total of five people were in the home at the time of the fire.

The blaze is still under investigation.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission is celebrating 12 months of jobs gains, noting the Bayou State has added 19,900 non-farm jobs since September of 2017. Secretary Ava Dejoie says metro areas state wide saw substantial growth, but one small southeast Louisiana city in particular stood out…

Latest employment figures show Louisiana added 19,900 jobs over the last 12 months, with every metro area adding jobs, including Lafayette and Houma. Louisiana Workforce Commission Secretary Ava Dejoie says the state has been working to make sure south central Louisiana isn’t so dependent on the oil and gas industry…

The free Devin White hashtag is gaining popularity on social media as LSU fans are urging the SEC to reverse its decision and allow the All-American linebacker to start against Alabama. White was called for targeting against Mississippi State and is suspended for the first half of the Alabama game.

Down 10 points in the 4th quarter the Saints scored 17 consecutive points and held on for a 24-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens. New Orleans fought hard to get its fifth straight win and Coach Sean Payton says the team deserved to get the victory…

With flu season starting soon, the Louisiana Health Department has scheduled flu vaccine clinics around the state, including one today in Thibodaux. Louisiana immunization director Dr. Frank Welch says the flu vaccine clinics are a test run for a more serious health emergency.

The state health department will administer mass flu shots in Alexandria tomorrow, Jena on Wednesday and in Marksville, Jonesville Winnfield and Lafayette on Thursday.

Governor Edwards tweeted out after the game that someone needs to explain the definition of targeting to him.

Two children died and three others sustained injuries in a mobile home fire in Belle Chasse last night. The victims are reportedly nine and seven years old. A cause of the blaze has not been determined and the state fire marshal’s office says it appears the home did not have working smoke alarms.

The first crop of medical marijuana legally grown in Louisiana has been harvested, but it’s still unclear when the product will be available at the nine licensed pharmcies around the state. State Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says they are still looking for a lab to do all the tests to approve the project…

Down 10 points in the 4th quarter the Saints scored 17 consecutive points and held on for a 24-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens. New Orleans did a lot of things well to get the win, 4-for-5 on fourth down, only gave up two sacks to the the NFL leader in sacks and Quarterback Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes against the league’s top ranked defense. In the end, a missed extra point by Justin Tucker was the difference. Coach Sean Payton is happy with the win…

The Saints next game is Sunday night in Minnesota. The Vikings beat the Jets 37-17 on Sunday.

And the Saints still lead the Panthers by one game for first place in the NFC South. Carolina rallied from a 17 point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Eagles 21-17. Tampa Bay also a winner yesterday, 26-23 in overtime over Cleveland.

The LSU Tigers will head into its annual grudge match with top ranked Alabama with a 7-1 record, but they’ll start the game without star linebacker Devin White, who has to sit for the first half after he was flagged for targeting late in the 4th quarter in the win over Mississippi State. After the game, Coach Ed Orgeron says the bye week comes at a good time…
