Officials say two of the victims in the New Orleans area triple homicide are children, as well as a 30-year-old female and another sent to the hospital. NOPD Chief Michael Harrison urges anyone with information about this crime to come forward.

The Louisiana State Troopers Association is reportedly the subject of a federal investigation alleging the nonprofit made illegal campaign contributions. That’s according to Louisiana Voice publisher Tom Aswell, who says the association’s board funneled the money through its executive director David Young.

The Saints announced today several signings.  Agreeing to three-year deals were wide receiver Ted Ginn  Junior and linebacker AJ Klein. Former Detroit lion guard Larry Warford signed a 4-year contract. The black and gold also confirmed the re-signing of Nick Fairley. And that they have released Jairus Byrd.

LSu begins spring football tomorrow. The Tigers top pass rusher Arden key will not participate in spring practice as he’s away from the football team for undisclosed reasons. Ascension Parish President Kenny Matassa has been indicted on charges of bribery after allegedly offering a former Gonzales City Council candidate money and a job if he would drop out of the election. Audio recordings were released by the owner of the Pelican Post, Wade Petite, of Matassa and Olin Berthelot, allegedly offering Wayne Lawson the bribe. Berhelot who is a local businessman was also indicted.

He says the FBI will try to get information from these individuals to learn what they may have done on Col. Mike Edmonson’s behalf. But he says his sources suggest someone is trying to hinder the investigation.

U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Kenneth Polite, is resigning, effective March 24. President Barack Obama nominated Polite in 2013 to replace Jim Letten, and it’s routine for U.S. attorneys to offer resignations after a new president is elected. Polite says in a news release that he has improved the office’s efficiency and transparency.

Classified state employees, like troopers, cannot make campaign contributions. The alleged donations include more than $10-thousand to former-Governor Bobby Jindal and Governor John Bel Edwards. State Police has said that the association is separate from the department.

A man who was on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 most wanted list has been captured in Jefferson Parish, according to authorities. Michael Craig Gervais was wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on one count of Rape of a Child and three counts of Attempted Child Neglect. Officials say Gervais is being held without bond on a Fugitive from Justice warrant in Louisiana, and awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

Every candidate in Louisiana’s four judicial races this year is a woman. A Tulane study authored by Sally Kenney finds 31-percent of Louisiana judges are women, up from 27-percent in 2011. But Kenney says the numbers mask the lack of female leadership outside East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes.

The author of the stripper age requirement bill says he will bring it up again in the regular session after it was blocked by a federal judge. Lake Charles Senator Ronnie Johns says the purpose of the bill is to curb sex trafficking because many victims are forced to work in strip clubs. He says anyone who thinks this form of modern day slavery doesn’t happen in Louisiana is sadly mistaken.
