Sources say the Saints have signed veteran linebacker Manti Te’o to a two-year contract. After a standout career at Notre Dame, Te’o has played his first four seasons in the NFL with San Diego, but he’s missed 26 games during that time because of injuries. He missed most of last season with a torn Achillies tendon.

New Orleans is also bringing back cornerback Sterling Moore on a one-year deal. Moore joined the franchise right before the start of the regular season and led the team in pass break-ups and had two interceptions to go along with 56 tackles.

LSU and McNeese will play each other in football in 2021. The two schools are scheduled to play on September 11th in Tiger Stadium. LSU opens that season by playing UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

A 16-year-old Benton teen has pleased guilty to manslaugter in the death of a 91-year-old family member. The Bossier Parish District Attorney Schulyer Marvin says Donzell Hogan could be in jail until he’s 31. Hogan killed Ludella Scott last July and stole her social security payment after Scott refused to give him 20 dollars.

The funeral for the slain East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy will be held on Thursday. 43-year-old Sgt. Shawn Anderson was shot and killed while conducting a rape investigation at a barbershop in Baton Rouge. Services will be held at Healing Place Church beginning at 8pm the day after tomorrow. The suspect, 30-year-old Brandon Wiley, was critically wounded and remains hospitalized.
