That’s Matt Hemingway with the National Weather Service, who says expect another cold start to the day tomorrow with low temperatures ranging the from the mid 20s to the low 30s.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office is helping to send an illegal immigrant back to El Salvador who is wanted for murder. Captain Daniel Seuzeneau says a deputy came into contact with 36-year-old Juan Sanchez-Roldan during a traffic stop in Covington and the homicide warrant from El Salvado was discovered…

Seuzeneau says Sanchez-Roldan lived in Baton Rouge and worked in St. Tammany.

Pinsonat says many voters believe state spending is already too high, which was evident when Senator-elect John Kennedy won by a landslide earlier this month…

Near-freezing temperatures have Louisianans across the state bundling up today. Matt Hemmingway with the National Weather Service in Shreveport says temperatures dropped to just below freezing this morning in North Louisiana, while the southern half of the state is hovering around 40 degrees.

Hemmingway says people will want to break out the winter wear tomorrow as well.

Hemmingway says things will start to warm up once we get into the middle of the week. He says we’ll see milder temperatures just in time for the official start of winter.

Hemmingway says another cold front will move in Thursday, but it won’t be as cold as it is today and tomorrow.

Governor John Bel Edwards is meeting with residents of St. Joseph today, after a public health emergency was declared in the small Tensas Parish town. Deputy Chief of Staff for the Governor’s Office, Julie Baxter Payer, says high levels of lead and copper were found in two water samples in St. Joe.

The Governor’s Office is providing three liters of water a day to each of the roughly 500 residents of St. Joe. Payer says the governor has ordered that the water in every home be tested for lead and copper. She says they believe the problem is the pipes, and there’s a lot of construction that needs to be done on St. Joe’s water system.

Residents of St. Joe have been dealing with dirty water flowing from their faucets for nearly a decade. Payer says construction on the water system is underway. She says they are doing what they can to get clean water to the town’s residents sooner rather than later.

A man from El Salvador who admitted to being an illegal alien has been detained by federal authorities in Covington after a St. Tammany Parish deputy discovered an outstanding warrant on him out of Central America. Captain Daniel Seuzeneau says 36-year-old Juan Sanchez-Roldan was pulled over on Highway 190…:

Brees silenced the naysayers who started to wonder if he’s done playing at a high level. The previous two games, Brees was intercepted six times and did not throw a touchdown.

There’s once again speculation about Coach Sean Payton’s future with the Saints. A CBS-sports report says the Saints would be interested in trading Payton in the offseason and would not demand a lot in return. There’s already two coaching vacancies open in the NFL, as the Rams and Jaguars are looking for new head coaches.

The state’s top quarterback, Lowell Narcisse, has re-committed to LSU. The St. James star was also serioulsy considering Auburn, but made the decision to attend LSU after speaking with new offensive coordinator Matt Canada. Narcisse will graduate in December and should be on LSU’s campus next month.

LSU running back Leonard Fournette, who has decided not to play in the Citrus Bowl, has signed with Jay Z’s sports agency, Roc Nation.

The loss to Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl gives UL Lafayette a 6-7 record for the 2016 campaign, their second straight losing season. But Coach Mark Hudspeth says he’s optimistic about 2017 as they have a bunch of returning starters coming back on offense and defense…

St. Joseph residents have complained about poor drinking water for years, because it’s been poorly maintained and deteriorating.

The Coast Guard says they medevaced a 60 year-old woman from a cruise ship approximately 14 miles south of Southwest Pass, Louisiana, this morning. They said a call came in from the Carnival Triumph requesting the medevac of a woman in need of dialysis. The boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the passenger to awaiting emergency medical services at Station Venice at 1:30 a.m. in stable condition.

Authorities Jefferson Parish say a 3 week old baby who was allegedly kidnapped by his biological father is back home safe. Cops say there is a warrant out for the arrest of Cameron Davis who remains at large.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case of a man who is believed to have fatally shot his ex-girlfriend before driving away and killing himself. They believe 33-year-old Tangela Detiege was murdered by the man after an argument.

US Senator David Vitter will only be in office two more weeks, and reflects on his time in public service. He says there are some things he did not accomplish that he hopes will be achieved under the Trump Administration, including term limits for lawmakers…:
