In the wake of the deadly terrorist attacks on innocent people in Paris, Governor Bobby Jindal is joining several other states in issuing executive orders to keep Syrian refugees out. State Police Col Mike Edmonson says there is no indication any threat exists here with regards to Syrian refugees and he’s been in constant contact with the FBI since the Paris attacks.

The Secretary of State’s Office says 16% more people turned out to early vote for Saturday’s runoff than did for the October primary. The director of the University of New Orleans Survey Research Center, Ed Chervenak, says when you compare the early voting figures from the primary to the runoff, there was an increase in African-American voters and registered democrats, which would benefit Edwards over his Republican opponent David Vitter..:

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and State Police are holding a news conference at this hour to discuss Governor Bobby Jindal’s executive order aimed at keeping Syrian refugees out of the state. Jindal says State Police has already received information that Syrian refugees are in Louisiana and they have the authority to monitor and avert all threats within the state. Louisiana joins several other states now seeking to keep Syrian refugees out following the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris last week.

Amid rumors to the contrary, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton says defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has not been fired. Fox Sports reported that sources had informed them that Ryan would be terminated following Sunday’s ugly 47-14 loss to Washington. Payton was asked about Ryan’s status at a news conference this morning…

JMC Analytics conducted a survey on Saturday’s runoff elections between November 14th-16th. The poll showed Republican Billy Nungesser leading Democrat Kip Holden by 11 points with 21% undecided in the Lt. Governor’s race. Pollster John Couvillion says Holden hasn’t done a lot of advertising…:

In the governor’s race, the poll found Republican David Vitter trailing Democrat John Bel Edwards by 16 points with 13% undecided. Vitter and Edwards are slated to face off in a televised debate tonight at 6pm.

The Department of Revenue’s 2015 Louisiana Tax Amnesty period begins today. Over the next 30 days people have the opportunity to bring overdue taxes up to date with lessened interest charges. Deputy Secretary Jarrod Coniglio (ca-nig-lee-oh) this is a prime opportunity for some to get squared away with the revenue department…:

Governor Bobby Jindal has signed an executive order which instructs state agencies to take all available steps to stop the relocation of Syrian refugees to Louisiana. State Police Col Mike Edmonson and GOHSEP director Kevin Davis are expected to meet this afternoon to address the executive order and Syrian refugees in Louisiana.

Saints coach Sean Payton said today that defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is currently with the team and that, as of right now, no staffing changes have been made. Payton says he plans to meet with the coaches and General Manager Mickey Loomis later today about any possible moves…:

The poll shows Republican Billy Nungesser leads Democrat Kip Holden by 11 points in the Lt. Governor’s race. In the Attorney General election, incumbent Buddy Caldwell polled just 25% to fellow GOP opponent Jeff Landry who came out with 46%.

Governor Bobby Jindal has issued an executive order to stop Syrian refugees from entering into Louisiana. Jindal tweeted out a letter that he sent to President Obama saying that, in light of the tragic terrorist attacks in Paris, Louisiana should not be kept in the dark about Syrian refugees entering into our state. He says it’s irresponsible to place individuals who possibly have ties to ISIS into the state without Louisiana’s knowledge or involvement.

After Sunday’s dismal performance against the Redskins, Saints head coach Sean Payton is reportedly going to announce the firing of defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. A total of 14 Syrians refugees were accepted into the state this year according to the State Department. Several internet blogs erroneously reported that 10,000 Syrian refugees made their way into Louisiana this year. ISIS claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks which killed 129 and injured 350 others.

The Secretary of State’s office reports that over 257,000 registered Louisiana voters cast ballots during the state’s early voting period for this Saturday’s runoff election. That’s a 16-percent increase from the primary election last month. It’s reported that based on early voter numbers, voter turnout for Saturday’s election is predicted to be 44-percent. Only 39-percent of voters turned out for the October 24th primary.

A dismal performance for the Saints Sunday as they were routed by the Redskins 47-14. Funeral services for New Orleans music icon Allen Toussaint have been set for Friday at the Orpheum Theatre in New Orleans. Toussaint passed away last Monday after a performance in Madrid, Spain. Visitation will begin at 8AM Friday and will continue until services begin at 11AM. A private burial will follow. Toussaint was 77-years-old.
