The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals confirms 13 new cases of West Nile in the state this week. Seven of those cases came from Caddo Parish in northwest Louisiana. That brings the total number of cases in the state to 42. Two people have died from West Nile in Louisiana so far this year.
