Election Day is less than a week away for the special election to select a new State Treasurer.   Secretary of State Tom Schedler predicts a voter turnout below 20-percent.  Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat (Pins-sa-nat) says even political action committees are sitting this election out.  They’re known for producing memorable campaign ads

Financial help is being provided for the family of a slain Lafayette Police Officer.  44-year-old Corporal Michael Middlebrook was killed last in t he line of duty.  President Raymond Hebert (A-Bear) with the Community Foundation of Acadiana is happy the fund was established several years ago at the urging of Police Chief Toby Aguillard…

Cut 2 (27) “I’m Michelle Southern”

Another person has been fatality shot in East Feliciana Parish.  The latest victim is Brad DeFranceschi, who is a well known member of the Boy Scout Community.  DeFranceschi was found dead in the back of his property on Highway 63 southeast of Clinton.  Authorities describe the crime as a drive by shooting.  He’s the fourth shooting victim in this area since July and all of them have been middle aged white men.
