Deputy Nick Tullier continues to make strides in his recover. His father, James, says Nick underwent major abdominal surgery last week, which should help with the infection he’s been battling since the attack. Tullier thanks the community for their continued support.

A Kinder man has been arrested after he was caught dumping a load of kittens off on the side of the road. Deputy Christopher Ivey with the Jefferson Davis Sheriff’s Office says deputies noticed a stopped vehicle stopped, which then turned down a private road. So they pulled over 63-year-old Morris Williams.

Williams is charged with 5 counts of animal cruelty.

A Ouachita Parish man was arrested after allegedly punching a pregnant woman over meth. The victim reportedly told police she fell asleep in the car on the way to 47-year-old William Chapman’s residence. Police say she woke up to Chapman and an unknown woman punching her and yelling at her to return the 36 grams of methamphetamine they believe was stolen from the home. Chapman was booked on one count of simple battery.
