A former Assistant Administrator at a war veteran’s home in Monroe has been arrested after stealing thousands of dollars from a patient there. Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street says 51-year-old Tommy Shoemaker gained access to the man’s credit card and banking information…:

Street says Shoemaker has been booked on counts of exploiting persons with infirmities and theft of an aged or disabled person.

There are three Louisiana natives representing the United States at the Summer Olympics in Rio. Baton Rouge native Seimone Augustus seeks her third gold medal with the women’s basketball team.
