An 80 year old man tragically lost his life when he was hit while changing a tire on the side of the road Thursday in Baton Rouge. State Police spokesperson Bryan Lee says Lawrence Shepherd was hit by a 47-year-old driver who lost control and missed a curve. He reminds drivers to remain vigilant for pedestrians along roadways…:

He says the driver of the vehicle that hit Shepherd is facing charges.
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Houma man in connection to the stabbing of his girlfriend. Spokesperson Dawn Foret says 35-year-old Ashraf Khalil is charged with attempted second degree murder after a woman ran into a convenience store begging for help after claiming she was stabbed by him in a vehicle:

She says the 23-year-old victim is in serious condition but is expected to recover.
