The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is trying to find information about a cougar that was found dead in Calcasieu Parish. They say owning exotic cats like that is illegal without a permit in Louisiana. The lifeless cougar was found along LA-Highway 12 near Dequincy.

Public school superintendents in Louisiana are having a tough time finding substitute teachers due, they say, to the Affordable Care Act. Freezing temperatures are expected in Louisiana once again to start the week. National Weather Service meteorologist Jow Rua says freezing temperatures could last several hours so it’s important to cover your plants and bring your pets indoors.
