Motorists are dealing with rising gas prices here in the heart of vacation season. The Louisiana statewide average for a gallon of regular is $2.59 which is up 17 cents from this time last month. AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says supply of crude is going down and there was concern that Tropical Storm Bill could also impact the production in some refineries…:

He expects we’ll see another decline near the end of summer.

The Red River in Bossier/Shreveport is now below flood stage for the first time in several weeks. Mario Valverde with the National Weather Service, says the river has fallen below 30 feet, which is flood stage:

He says hopefully the rain from Tropical Storm Bill will not lead to another significant flood event on the Red River.

LSU gets to play another game in the College World Series after a reliving win for the team yesterday. Coach Paul Mainieri has announced that Zac Person will start on the mound tomorrow night against TCU. The senior left-hander from Eunice will make his second start of the season. Mainieri also says the Tigers will stay with the gold jerseys and Alex Bregman will remain in the lead-off spot.
