East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux says the Baton Rouge police ambush a year ago today was a turning point for our community. Gautreaux recalls racing back to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, where he learned three officers had lost their lives.

Deputy Nick Tullier continues to defy the odds, after being shot three times in the attack. His father, James Tullier, says Nick is able to move his arms and legs, and he even said the word hello out loud recently, which is something doctors never thought he would do.

Baton Rouge Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a murder suspect. Sgt. Don Coppola says 52-year-old Robert Antoine is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Saturday night. He says the suspect should be considered dangerous.

A man is behind bars on an attempted murder charge after a heroin overdose on LSU campus. Police say the 25-year-old was found unresponsive in a bathroom stall with a needle in his arm. 33-year-old Joshua Brian is accused of giving the drug to the victim, and making no attempt to call for help after the overdose. The victim was resuscitated by EMS. Brian also faces a slew of drug-related charges.
