West Baton Rouge Sheriff Mike Cazes is certain the two bodies recovered from the Intracoastal Canal are the suspects wanted in a Lafayette kidnapping. He announced today the two black males were speeding down the shoulder of I-10 when the interstate was closed. After a chase, their van got stuck, and the two fled on foot, apparently drowning in the canal.

A 25-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly brutally raping a woman at her home in Mandeville. Mandeville Police Chief Gerald Sticker says the public was essential in helping to locate Ronald Moore Jr of Lacombe.

Moore is charged with first-degree rape, aggravated burglary, and attempted first-degree murder.

A Caddo Parish man is facing a felony after mistaking his neighbor’s dog for an alligator. Bobby Herring with the sheriff’s office says the owners of the 11-year-old dachshund found their pet in Tommy Collingsworth’s yard.
