The Edwards administration has started the legal process to remove BRF as the operator of the state’s safety net hospitals in Monroe and Shreveport. Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne says a letter has been sent to BRF that gives them 45 days to correct various problems….

Dardenne says the state has spoken with Ochsner Health System who could help BRF run the hospitals or possibly replace them.

Hundreds of cancer patients and survivors were in Washington D.C. today to urge Congress to help with the fight against cancer. Louisiana resident Amber Stevens says they are urging lawmakers to support palliative care and hospice education training…:
