Media reports say the startling discovery of the infant’s body was at Tensas Elementary School on Monday morning.
Norris Greenhouse Jr. was sentenced to seven and half years today for his role in the shooting death of 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis. The former Marksville Marshal pleaded guilty to negligent homicide and malfeasance in office. An earlier trial stemming from the incident resulted in Derrick Stafford, another ex-Marshal, being sentenced to 40 years for manslaughter. The shooting victim’s father, Christopher Few says he’s glad there will not be another trial.
The LSU fraternity pledge who died last month may have drank an excessive amount of alcohol during a drinking game according to Police records. Legal analyst Tim Meche says although there is Louisiana law to hold someone responsible for causing an overdose by injecting illegal drugs, there is no such law for alcohol. Because of this Meche says the fraternity members involved might avoid felony charges:
