Police reports say the LSU fratnerity pledge who died last month may have been forced to drink an excessive amount of alcohol as part of an inititation ritual called “Bible Study.” Phi Delta Theta pledges who gave incorrect answers to questions about the frat were forced to drink. Officials believe 18-year-old Maxwell Gruver’s death is a possible hazing incident.

Saints Coach Sean Payton says it’s obvious the US needs common sense gun control after the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. Michelle Southern reports…:

Tracy Pitre of Houma had never been to Las Vegas and he’ll obviosly remember his first trip. Tracy and his wife were at country music festival when a gunman started opening fire on the crowd on Sunday. Tracy says the gunshots were echoing off the buildings….

The Pitre’s safely got back to their hotel hours later.

The National Hurricane Center is watching an area of low pressure in the southwestern Caribbean Sea, which has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico. Senior hurricane specialist Stacy Stewart says the disturbed weather will move north past Nicaragua and Honduras….
