State Police is investigating an officer involved shooting in which they say a Baton Rouge cop shot and killed a man. Michelle Southern reports…:

A man who spent nearly a half century in jail will be freed after his conviction is over turned.  65-year-old Wilbert Jones’ bail was set at two-thousand-dollars and is expected to be released tomorrow.  State District Court Judge Richard Anderson threw out his conviction after it was discovered authorities withheld “highly favorable” evidence that would have exonerated Jones in connection with a 1971 rape.

More information has come to light in the fatal shooting involving the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department.  When deputies arrived, Sheriff Randy Smith says 55-year-old Eddy Longoria of Dallas came out of his home Saturday night and started shooting.  That is when his three officers took defensive action, killing Longoria.  Smith is happy there weren’t other injuries…

DXC Technology will create over 2,000 jobs after their digital transformation center opens in New Orleans.   Demographer Greg Rigamer says although it will take a while to create all the new jobs, we should see 300 jobs in 2018.  He says seasoned employees in the technology field will be needed but this is also a great opportunity to get many young people into the industry.
