Law enforcement agencies around the state are mourning the death of Westwego Police officer Michael Louviere. The war veteran and father of two was fatally shot this morning in Marrero while assisting a woman who was involved in a car crash. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand….

The suspect is 32-year-old Sylvester Holt and Normand says they believe it was a domestic distrubance between the woman and Holt that sparked the shooting. The coroner has revealed that the 32-year victim was eight weeks pregnant.

Hundreds of thousands of women are gathering in the nation’s capital one day after President Trump’s inauguration for the Women’s March on Washington. Alyssa Leader of West Monroe is one of those and she says they hope to deliver a clear message to the new administration…:

In his last hours in office, former President Barack Obama approved sentence reductions for 330 federal inmates, 23 from Louisiana. LSU New Orleans Public Health Criminologist Dr. Peter Scharf says these commutations were mostly drug related…:
