The LSU baseball team will have its best power hitter in the line-up tomorrow for the season opener against Air Force. Right fielder Greg Deichmann has received clearance from the doctors to play, despite taking a pitch to the face that fractured his right cheek. Tonight at the Thomas Assembly Center, Louisiana Tech puts its four-game winning streak on the line as the Bulldogs host Florida Atlantic. Tech is in second place in the Conference USA standings and they are looking to secure a first round bye in the upcoming league tournament. Tip-off tonight is at 6:30.

The LSU football team has received two verbal commitments today. The first came from former Bastrop star Travez Moore, who is currently at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He’s six-foot-six, 250 pounds and is listed by 24-7 sports as the second best weakside defensive end in the country. The other verbal pledge came from Plaquemine defensive tackle Nelson Jenkins. He’s six-foot-four , 280 pounds. Both players are three-star prospects.

Former LSU star running back Leonard Fournette is the pitch man for the Life 10 Electroylyte beverage, which is based out of New Orleans.
