The LSU baseball team will have its best power hitter in the line-up tomorrow for the season opener against Air Force. Right fielder Greg Deichmann has received clearance from the doctors to play, despite taking a pitch to the face that fractured his right cheek. Deichmann says he’s fired up to play, but admits the whole ordeal was a little scary at first…

Deichmann will bat fourth in tomorrow night’s line-up.

Tonight at the Thomas Assembly Center, Louisiana Tech puts its four-game winning streak on the line as the Bulldogs host Florida Atlantic. Tech is in second place in the Conference USA standings and they are looking to secure a first round bye in the upcoming league tournament. Tip-off tonight is at 6:30.

The LSU football team has received two verbal commitments today. The first came from former Bastrop star Travez Moore, who is currently at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He’s six-foot-six, 250 pounds and is listed by 24-7 sports as the second best weakside defensive end in the country. The other verbal pledge came from Plaquemine defensive tackle Nelson Jenkins. He’s six-foot-four , 280 pounds. Both players are three-star prospects.

Former LSU star running back Leonard Fournette is the pitch man for the Life 10 Electroylyte beverage, which is based out of New Orleans. Fournette is represented by the sports agency Roc Nation and its President of Branding Michael Yormark says Fournette has great potential to be a terrific spokesperson for the sports drink…
