Saints Quarterback Drew Brees had surgery this afternoon on his injured thumb. Earlier today, Coach Sean Payton spoke with reporters from Seattle and would not name a starter for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. Teddy Bridgewater filled in for the injured Brees last week, but failed to guide the Saints into the end zone. Payton is not putting the blame on Bridgewater though…

Payton says there are no plans to put Brees on injured reserve. The team has put wide receiver Keith Kirkwood on I-R because of a hamstring injury.

ESPN.com’s Andrew Lopez reports that Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram and guard Lonzo Ball have been full participants in the team’s voluntary offseason workouts. Both players had significant injuries last season.

It was a little surprising to see Northwestern State score two touchdowns against LSU’s defense last Saturday. But safety Jacoby Stevens says once they woke up, they made the proper adjustments and they understand the mistakes made

The Tigers are at Vanderbilt this Saturday at 11 AM. The major news coming out of the SEC Coaches teleconference this morning is that LSU will wear its purple jerseys again this Saturday.

LSU has released its 2020 baseball schedule. The Tigers will open the season at home against Indiana on Valentine’s Day. LSU’s first road game will be February 19th in Thibodaux versus the Nicholls Colonels. SEC play begins March 13th at Ole Miss. The Tigers will host the defending national champion Vanderbilt Commodores during the first weekend of April.
