Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi named Spencer Rattler the starting quarterback for Monday’s game at Green Bay. Rizzi says they are not closing the door on Derek Carr playing again this season as he tries to recover from a fractured hand. Rizzi does not expect running back Alvin Kamara to play against the Packers because of a groin injury.

UL Lafayette athletics director Bryan Maggard has fired longtime men’s basketball coach Bob Marlin. The firing comes after the Cajuns won their Sun Belt opener last night, despite that victory it’s been a tough season. U-L Lafayette is 3-and-9 overall. Marlin has been the Cajuns coach for 13 seasons, leading the program to two NCAA Tournament appearances. In a statement, Maggard said a change was necessary. Assistant coach Derrick Zimmerman will serve as interim coach.
