The Lake Charles Police Department is looking for a vehicle of interest in the case of the home invasion early this morning where a three year old child was shot. The homeowner told cops two burglars were beating him with a gun when it went off striking the child, then fled in a green 2000-2006 Chevy Suburban. The child is expected to survive. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact authorities.
A Port Allen man who set up a plot to try to have an elderly couple killed will spend 10 years behind bars. Prosecutor Tony Clayton says 38-year-old Tommy Gioele hired someone to murder Manuel Persica and his wife Camellia over a sour business deal. He says the man who was hired had no intention of killing the couple and credits State Police with nabbing Gioele…:

State Police say a single vehicle crash in Rapides Parish has claimed the life of an Alexandria teenager who was not wearing her seat belt. They say 17-year-old Bree Ducote lost control of her truck earlier this morning, collided with a mailbox then crashed into two trees. She was not restrained, was ejected and pronounced dead at a local hospital.
