The deputy secretary of the state Department of Economic Development is getting a promotion to the top spot. Governor Bobby Jindal announced today that Steven Grissom will succeed Secretary Stephen Moret who will serve as the President and CEO of the LSU Foundation starting Monday.

The EPA has approved the Louisiana Military Department’s recommended incineration method of disposal of the 15 million pounds of M6 propellant at Camp Minden. The method to be used will be a contained incineration burn method by the company Explosive Service International.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office says a man is under arrest accused of abandoning three horses earlier in the week — they were malnourished and showed signs of possible abuse – one could not be saved. They say pictures were posted of the horses and spread over social media which eventually lead investigators to Floyd Williams who is charged with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
