State Education Superintendent John White tweeted that he received a proficient rating from BESE during today’s evaluation of his job performance. White also says his strengths in that evaluation are ACT and literacy gains, grads, early college credits and industry based credentials. A significant weakness was English learners, whose gains were outpaced by students statewide.
Powerball players have another chance to win big, as tonight’s jackpot is a whopping $430 million. Louisiana Lottery spokesperson Dustin Annison says the jackpot keeps growing because players are rushing out to get their tickets.

It’s been confirmed Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux will have surgery to repair a broken leg. Sideline reporter Kristian Garic says Breaux found out today he will be out 4 to 6 weeks with a fracture. He says that the injury was misdiagnosed, which is a big deal for the program.
