Recovery continues in Calcasieu Parish after Tropical Storm Harvey left major flood damage in some areas. OEP Director Dick Gremillion says in the days before the storm made landfall in Calcasieu, a torrential downpour left nearly 500 houses with some water inside. He says flooding also occurred when the Sabine River came out of its banks…:

Gremillion says they are still waiting to find out if Calcasieu flood victims will be available for federal assistance.

The state might get out of its contract with BRF, which operates state owned hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe. Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne says BRF is violating the contract that’s currently in place and they have 45 days to correct the problems…

BRF says they anticipate resolving the contract disagreement without being ousted.

LSU Head Football Coach Ed Orgeron has signed an advertising deal with Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane’s. Orgeron will be featured in commercials, billboards and in-restaurant signage for the fast food restaurant that specializes in chicken fingers. Former LSU Head Coach Les Miles had a similar agreement with Cane’s for eight years.
