New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu announces that the city has reached settlements totaling 13-million dollars with the families of those involved in fatal police shootings and a fatal police beating that took place right around the time of Hurricane Katrina. The settlements are with 17 pantiffs.

Governor John Bel Edwards is in Tensas Parish visiting with residents of St. Joseph after a public health emergency was issued after lead and copper was found during testing of the towns drinking water.
