Today is Ag-Day which is a day to recognize the agriculture industry’s contribution to our daily lives. State Ag Commissioner Mike Strain says the historic floods in March and August of last year made it hard for many farms, both large and small, across the state. He says traveling to a foreign country that doesn’t have enough food makes one truly appreciate the ag industry.

Two suspects are in critical condition after an apparent robbery in St. Martinville where a homeowner shot the men as they were trying to enter the home armed with a gun. Major Ginny Higgins, with the sheriff’s office, says one of the suspect’s rang the doorbell of the resident’s home around 3am this morning…:

She says the two suspects were also wanted in connection with an armed robbery and shooting in Baton Rouge Monday.

 

A 16-year-old Benton teen has pleased guilty to manslaugter in the death of a 91-year-old family member. The Bossier Parish District Attorney Schulyer Marvin says Donzell Hogan could be in jail until he’s 31. Hogan killed Ludella Scott last July and stole her social security payment after Scott refused to give him 20 dollars.
