Dr. Fred Lopez with LSU Health New Orleans says this bacteria is found in sewage and the human intestine. He says if you decide to get in the water, you’re swimming at your own risk.

Three candidates have joined the race to fill Scott Angelle’s vacated public service commissioner seat on the second of three qualifying days for the October election. Democrat Damon Baldone was appointed by the governor to occupy the seat temporarily but he’s had his eye on this rice since last year and never told Governor Edwards he wasn’t going to run.
